Its population grew more than 50% to 999 by the 2010 census and stretched to an estimated 1,090 by 2019, although many more fill the area in snow season.

The Winter Park Resort is owned by the City of Denver which sends people to the mountains via the Winter Park Express ski train.

Besides spectacular skiing, the resort offers tubing, snowcats, ski bikes, snowshoe tours and much more.

The season runs from early October until late May and very occasionally extends by a couple of weeks at either end.
